• The first version was presented at the1997 Writing Program Administrators' conference.
• A thorough revision was created in a 1998 Conference on College Composition and Communication Workshop (here shown in its form at the end of the session)..
• This review draft was distributed and discussed at the 1998 WPA conference.
• The Outcomes group used suggestions from the 1998 CCCC Workshop and the 1998 WPA conference to prepare the previous official version .

Alternate Versions

• Irv Peckham drafted a simplified version for audiences other than composition specialists (waiting for new link).
• Keith Rhodes drafted a student version for his first-year composition classes.
• Irv Peckham drafted a proposed "technology plank " that could be used to add computer literacy to the Outcomes Statement.
• After the 1999 WPA conference, the Steering Committee prepared this published version of the Outcomes Statement.
