News about uploads?

March 31, 2008 – 12:17 am

I’m thinking that one way we might use this blog is to report uploads, at least those that are more than one or two items. Today, I added an entry about Assessing Writing.

Uploaded Assessing Writing

March 31, 2008 – 12:14 am

I just uploaded 10 entries for Assessing Writing, 12.1 and 12.2, 2007. Beth Brunk-Chavez is the CompPiler for that journal.

Continuing the move

March 23, 2008 – 2:35 am

I’m working on moving all parts of the site to the new server. I have completed the volunteer section for journals in preparation for our announcement this coming week about CompPile Associates. More about that in a day or two.

New Features

March 1, 2008 – 3:27 am

With this new site, we are able to add important new features for users. For example, users can now

  • select results to export or print
  • export search results in several different formats: excel, word table, word non-table, PDF, and xml
  • write short reviews of any item in CompPile

Coming soon:

  • users will be able to add annotations for any item
  • we will be testing a “tagging” system, so users can expand the ways to locate and identify resources in CompPile
  • we are working on ways to keep track of searches for user search session
  • and we are working on exports for bibliographic software (such as endnote, refworks, etc.)

We welcome suggestions: comppile@gmail.com

Moving to new server

February 25, 2008 – 1:49 am

As you’ve noticed by now, we are moving CompPile to a new server. We’re also redesigning the home page, upgrading the search interface, and adding more functionality for users of the database. We appreciate your patience.

Watch this space for regular news.
