TAAS was an alright experience. I didn't enjoy it but I guess it was suppose to help others see how smart we were or what level of learning we were at. To me it felt like the TAAS was a way for others to see where we were what we've learned and to see if everyone taking the TAAS was on the same learning page. If you didn't pass TAAS you had to take remedial classes and I guess that was a good idea because then if you were behind you were able to catch up or learn what you didn't know. It was a way to get caught up and not left further behind. All and all TAAS was OK.

TAAS was an OK experience for me. Personally I think it was a waste of time. I felt like the writing prompt was too young for me. However I felt like my preperation at King High School was excellant. I still use the concepts today in my writing my papers ie: form what to discuss and how to discuss it. TAAS could be improved by maturing the topic. Again I felt like the topic was too immuture for me.

TAAS was crap. Teachers were so concerned about seeing the students do well on TAAS that they would ignore teaching us actuall "hard" subject material. The whole idea of standardized test just doesn't work. I know that some idiots even fail the thing. There is no other excuse for their failure aside from the fact that they are indeed idiots. Here I was in 10th grade at the time and what do they test us over? Crap I learned in 6th grade! And you don't even get to leave after you finish.(At least at my school) That means I had to sit down and be bored out of my mind waiting for some idiot who doesn't "get it" to finish the damn thing.(Yes those people are idiots.) And who ever decided I needed to pass this TAAS test to graduate High School is an idiot also. I say if you keep the TAAS then bump it down to the eigth grade. Then it might actually somewhat of a challenge. Use SAT's and ACT's. You actually have to have some intelligence for those tests. TAAS is a huge waste of time the majority of the people pass it and some master it. Others fail this test and as I told you earlier they are idiots. My friends failed the test. Yes he is an idiot. And he is a pothead. At least he has an excuse. Some people are retarded enough to fail this test without the help of weed and crack. Any time we spent in class reviewing for TAAS was a waste and I hope that I don't come across anything so blatantly time wasting during my years in college.

TAAS was something our school had us preparing for all year. We always had worksheets at the beginning of class that went over Math problems and another day it would be English work. I know when I was younger (not in high school) we went over the essay part a lot more. Our teachers would post pictures and we would have to make a story about the picture. Then further along we were given prompts. I did well on the TAAS and I believe it had been because of the practices I had had along the way. However I do wish I had been able to work more on my math. This is an area I could have had more help in so I could have performed better for the TAAS.

TAAS was usless for me. In my opinion our whole high school careers were based on passing the TAAS. We never had a chance to learn, we were always “relearning” everything that would be used in the test our Junior year. I hated TAAS. It was a waste of time and energy. So much more could have been taught during the time teachers were instructing students on how the TAAS test would be conducted. I don't think we need the TAAS test, students already know most of the information. We don't need it anymore.

TAAS was very simple. There was no problem passing infact they put to much stress over TAAS. Everyone should master it.

TAAS well I admit the math part was fun to me I loved the math because it was stuff I could do. I basically saw it as fun but on the other hand the reading part was horrid. I did not score badly but it was not fun and I usually got questions wrong on practices come to think of it it was miraculous that I passed them I passed them not barely but sufficiently. I get mostly main idea questions wrong you would think those would be the easiest but not for me. WRiting for me was okay it was not my favorite but it wasn't as hard as the reading. Me no like writing too much but I liked how it was in the box writing it had a format and you could put stuff like in conclusion but in recent work its not in the box. I am a dork sophomore TAAS test I studied people probably thought I was crazy.

Taking the TAAS test was not really a great experience for me. All the practice we do in class and then taking the actual test is stressful. Not only that but there is too much emphasize on the test. I think Texas students are behind their studies because that is all students learn in high school how to pass the TAAS test. With all this emphasize it does not allow teachers to go over other standarize test that colleges go by when deciding to accept students. Maybe if this was the case more Texas students would attend more of the bigger universities because their scores would be above average.

Also when taking the test some students get bored while taking it. Some students might fall asleep during the test and then not care when they wake up and just mark anything. This will give them bad scores and then make the school look bad. To me taking the TAAS is really a waste of time. The state says they want to know how the students are doing in class but they already have certain classes needed to graduate from high school so if they pass those classes then that means the students are meeting the state's standards.
