My TAAS experience was fairly easy to be qute honest. However I am mot
very good at mathematics and on that sectionof the test I made and 84 I believe
or some number in the B section that did not allow me to be TASP exempt I would
like to see thet math section of the TAAS slightly easier

My TAAS experience was good. I seemed to have done well enough to pass
it. I guess I could have done a little bit better on it then I wouldn't have
had to take the TASP test which I have no taken 2 times and still haven't
passed the math part. The test didn't seem all that hard to me. After doing the
reviews and stuff it gave me a better feel for what was happening on the test.
I didn't really know what to expect and since I was only a sophmore in high
school I didn't think that I had learned enough to be ready for the test but
apparently I was wrong. I was proud of myself and the grades that I recieved on
the test.

My TAAS experience was horrible. I moved to Texas my senior year so I
had no idea what the TAAS was. I was told that I had to take it in order to
graduate. I thought the whole thing was ridiculous especially since I was new
to the school system and didn't know a thing about it. So I took the test
online. It took me about 4 hours but I passed. I was so relieved. I thought it
was going to be difficult but it was pretty easy to me. It just took up a lot
of time. I think of the whole idea of it is stupid. Especially for military
dependents. :)

My TAAS experience was not all that wonderful or great. It was a test
required to take. You either passed or fail. At my high school [X] High they
prepared us for it I felt. We had classes that we had to go to and they did
nothing but TAAS prep. It would bore us but helped us in many ways. The test
itself was not to difficult. Each day was something different but it got boring
having to take it. Also since it is so early most of the students are tired.
They gave us some snack to keep us energized. But the test I felt was not too
much of a waste of time. It was OK.

My TAAS experience was not at all benefiting to someone trying to
obtain a good education. I feel the teachers taught us how to pass the TAAS and
not help us get a quality education. Although I passed the TAAS test it was
because I feel that the test was too easy. The TAAS test was not challenging at
all it was all over the things that I learned in the fifth grade. The TAAS was
not hard but I wished that the teachers would have been more helpful in
teaching me the things I needed to be prepared for in college, instead of
teaching me how to “successfully pass the TAAS”.

My TAAS experience was not something very memorable. My entire
freshman and sophomore years were devoted to being prepared for the TAAS.
English excersizes were examples from previous TAAS tests taken and in math and
science, my teachers always threatened us with: “If you don't understand this,
you will not pass the TAAS, and you can not graduate.“ This was not, however,
threatening to me. I had always made decent grades so when it came time to take
the TAAS I mastered all areas of reading and writing but missed being exempt
from the TASP in math by one measly point. I needed an 86 and I had made an 85.
But that threat scared a lot of people who didn't make good grades and who were
already bad test takers. Personally I think the TAAS is a joke. There was
nothing on that test that should determine whether or not a person can graduate
high school. The TASP is what should determine a person's eligibility to enter
college but otherwise I see the TAAS as a big waste of time money and
unnecesary stress on high school students. One thing that surprised me was that
the TAAS was taken during my sophomore year in high school. So if it is a test
on whether or not one should graduate why no put it off until senior year. Of
course seniors already have enough stress on them as it is. With entrance exams
TASP ACT and the SAT. Why then with all these other tests should a test taken
your sophomore year of high school when most students have not learned as much
as they will the following two years determine whether or not you graduate?
Doesn't make sense.

My TAAS experience was ok. But I really didn't like it cause it took
away the extra learning time that I had for other classes. What I did like was
after I took the test my junior year I got to sleep in and go to school at 12
instead of 8 so that was ok.

My TAAS experience was ok. I think that the TAAS is an easy way to be
exempt from taking the TASP test to place in certain college level courses. But
I think that taking tests aren't the best way to decide this. There could be a really
smart person that makes awesome grades in a class but when it comes time to
take a test they totally blow it. Not everyone can take tests. I am one of
those people. I study real hard for a test and then find myself sitting blankly
staring at the test. For example the SAT. I studyed real hard and did all the
internet practice tests and then I went to take the test and found myself lost.
I couldn't remember anything and I didn't do very well. I know lots of people
like this and I'm not saying they aren't smart but not everybody are good test
takers. I know some people have to retake tests a million of times in order to
pass or get the grade needed and that is not saying they are stupid or don't
study. Its just based on how you take tests.

My TAAS experience was one I will remember for awhile. I always stress
when I do take tests that are "important for your future." I get the
can't eat can't sleep can't think straight syndrome. The test wasn't as bad as
I thought it was, but I did get extrememly bored during the test. None of the
stories were very interesting to me in the "reading portion." I had a
time where I wanted to kill the creators of the TAAS because I hated that test
so much during it. I was happy with the test when I got my results back stating
that I had passed with "honors" or something like that, which exempt
me from the TASP, which made me VERY happy. Overrall, I believe I shouldn't
have stressed so much over a test like the TAAS.

My TAAS experience was pretty good. My sophomore year of high school
we took a practice test on the math part in our math class. If you got below a
75 you would have to go to a TAAS class after school on every Thursday. Since I
was new to Texas and didn't take it in 8th grade I had to take the class. At
first I was embarrased because I thought I was stupid for being in it. The
class was ok it would give us hints and tips on how to take the test. Right
before the test they set up a camp on a Saturday for the people who took the
class. The camp helped so much. Because of the class and the camp I got a 87 on
my math. It is not the best score but I know if I would not have taken the
class I would have done worse maybe even not have passed. As for the English
part, we practiced writing an in class essay and working on our writing. We
also took a practice test for the reading portion. Working on the English in
class really helped a lot with the writing. The reading was so easy. Anyone
could have passed. I got a “3” on my essay and a 97 on the reading portion. All
in all it was stressful but I did really good for me.
