My TAAS experiance isn't really something I remember well. What I do
remmeber well though is redundant studies in all of my classes. I think schools
focus entirely too much on teaching for the Test rather than really teaching.
TAAS assignments were given a very early stage in school. Now that I am in
college I realize there are a lot more things I needed to learn rather than
useless packets of TAAS practice.

My TAAS experience captured an attitude inside myself I never really
understood before. Taking this test made me realize that whether I was actually
aware of it or not ever second I was in school I was learning something. I
found from this test that I knew things I never realized I knew. When I
recieved my TAAS results I felt proud but also relieved. The months following
the test were spent worrying if I had done well enough or not. When I got the
scores back I was proud of myself for doing so well and relieved at the same
time that I was qualified to be TASP exempt. I think the TAAS is a great idea
and helps students in many different subjects as well as helping them to know
what they need to work on for future standardized tests.

My TAAS experience has been real good. It was kinda hard the first
couple of years I had to take it but after a while it had become easy.

My TAAS experience I guess would be the same as any other kid growing
up in Texas. I can remember spending almost all the time in class as a kid
talking about TAAS in all my classes. Throughout Elementary school that's all
the work I can actually remember doing. I don't think the TAAS is a good test.
I think they could have taught us more in school than just learning how to pass
that test. By the time I got to High School I knew it would be easy and not to
even study for it because it would be pointless. All in all I think the TAAS
test was really useless and boring to everyone.

My TAAS experience in English class my sophomore year was grueling.
Our teacher had us writing many practice essays and using certain diagrams to
stem our ideas. Although the experience was hard work it payed off because I
made a 4 on the writing part. I really could'nt say if it was a great
experience because even with out the practice I could've managed to make a 4. I
don't like the fact that we were taught to write it in a certain format just
for the people grading the test. It was too uniform for me. The practicing for
the test took up about 4-6 weeks and I think that it was a waste of valuable
class time.

My TAAS experience isn't as bad as others because I was and still am
not a good test taker. Then again I transeferred to a new school about 2 months
before the TAAS-Exit test so I was in an uncomfortable environment. I think
that TAAS is an excellent assessment test of what someone has learned but then
again at sometime in your life TAAS gets annoying!

My TAAS experience sucked because it was ame old stuff time after time
and it became to be really dull like a broken record. The TAAS test measured
the same things I knew. I had to take it almost every year in elementary and
middle school and in high school they threw it to us in 10th grade. The only
time I ever appreciated the the TAAS test was when I was any other grade other
than 10th in high school because we got to take half the day off! To summarize
my TAAS experience in one word it would be stupid.

My TAAS experience was a very mundane one. Since I had been preparing
for it since I was in grade school nothing came as a shock to me. Each section
of the test was fairly simple and easy for me. I scored in the top ninty seven
percentile in the tenth grade and was exempt from my T.A.S.P test because of
it. We had a practice TAAS test about two months before the actual one which
made me feel very confident. Going into the actual test I didn't really worry
or stress much. It was really more of a hassle than a challenge for me. I think
the TAAS test is made to examine if everyone has learn the basics of education.
If you had half-way payed attention through school it should have been easy.

My TAAS experience was alright. I do not like taking tests at all but
I did not think that the test was hard. My school was very big about preparing
the students for the TAAS so when the test rolled around everyone would do
well. I remember during my sophomore year in high school my English teacher had
all of her students do TAAS handouts every single class meeting. The handouts
were long and I got so sick and tired of doing them. I think that it all worked
out for the best though because every single one of her students got academic
recognition for the English and Writing parts. She was so happy for us that she
threw us a big party. On the other end of the spectrum was the math part. I do
not think that I got enough preparation for the math portion of the TAAS. My
math teacher did not do much at all to help us do well. There were days where
we would do a few problems but that was it. I ended up doing alright but I
think that I could have done better if there was more preparation involved.
When the testing was all over I remember waiting and waiting for my results.
When they finally got in my parents got to them before I did. I ended up doing
very well in every section. The math was of course my lowest but my scores were
high enough to exempt me from the TASP test. That was a major relief. Our entire
school did so well that we earned the title of Exemplerary High School for
three years in a row. I think that with proper prepartation anyone can excell
at this test.

My TAAS experience was dull and boring. I thought it was pointless and
over-rated. All you hear about since third grade is TAAS. ow it's going to be
so hard and how if you don't pass you won't be able to pass to the next grade
or eventually graduate. It I all of bunch of well. You get my point. The only
part of TAAS that I enjyed is the fact that three out of the four years in high
school I got to sleep in and have breakfast with my friends.
As for other standardize tests that depend on whether you get in to he
college or university that you want to go to I think those are over rated also.
What if you're not book smart and are a great artist but you need a test score
of 1140 on Reading and Math. How can one test tell the whole world about in in
just one number?
