I thought that the TAAS was pointless every year I took it. Until the junior year of high school all we learned was how to bubble in answers on the test. What good is the TAAS. It does not help you get into college or get high sores on the SAT. Don't we have enough tests in school already.

I thought that the test sucked. Before taking the exit level exam for the TAAS test all we did at school was study for the TAAS so our school could beat the other schools in our distric to get distric money. Therefore valuable time was lost learning objectives that were more important. Plus the TAAS was not that difficult to pass. I took a practice exit level TAAS test home and let my cousin who was 12 at the time take it to prove my theory. She proved my theory very well. A 12 year old who makes A's could pass the test. Again if teachers were teaching us nothing except TAAS crap that it was a complete waste of time. If by some miracle someone failed this poor excuse for a test, they should be “voted of the island” so to speak (kicked out of school).

I thought the TAAS exam was quite easy. High school teachers took a lot of time to get you prepared for the test day. The only thing I did not like about the TAAS test is that it takes very long. I was not scared at all that I would fail.

I thought the TAAS was an overall easy test but pointless. The test itself does not prove anything about a persons academic ability or how they think. It should not be required for a student to have to pass all sections of the TAAS test in order to graduate from high school. It is similar to making an academic student without athletic ability go outside and run ten miles in order to graduate. If a person cannot pass the test easily but they are actually very smart in all subjects then how would it prove what they can really do in a classroom? Whether a person can pass a test or not should not have to hold them back from their future.

I took it so long ago so I cant say too much but I remember that the writing was easy I like to write so I was not that hard. The other part was more difficult but had no real problems. Personally I did not like it yes it reflects on your knoledge but I dont think I gave that good of say on it.you could be a wonderful student but have a bad day and not do so well this might have been one of my problems.overall I thing these test are highly overrated!

I took many preporatory classes for the TAAS in high school. I feel that I was well prepared for the TAAS my english teachers gave us many practice tests and worksheets to prepare us for this majortest. We learned many study techniques and tips for the test and that helped alot. I think the TAAS was a good educational experience b/c I prepared for it for so long that when I finally took itI was excited and ready. I was also very excited when I recieved my scores and found out I did very well on it. Overall I feel it was a good experience.

I took my first TAAS test in the fourth grade. Back then they were considering adding a science and history section to the math and English. The test was very simple: basic science math and history questions; English consisted of basic grammar and vocabulary as well as a few pictures that you had to describe. My sophomore year I took the final TAAS test. As far as I'm concerned it was a waste of time. The test was designed to measure the overall intelligence and competence of the class, and yet there was almost no chance of failing since teachers “taught the test” and we had several practice tests. So in general, we wasted a few days of school for repeat information.

I took the TAAS back in 10th grade so to be honest I cannot quite remember every detail but I do think that it was not that challenging and I actually did rather well on it. But the SAT I would have to say I shoul've prepared more for it. For future reference I would have to recommend all students that they either take a Pre-SAT course/test (PSAT). Or take a SAT prep course or at least study on your own time.

On the otherhand I also took the ACT which was not as difficult and seemed to be a lot less challenging. I did not prepare as much for this test but I did better on it than the SAT the material covered is more related to things that we had done recently and things that were easier to memorize.

I took the TAAS my sophomore year and it was a joke. I was insulted that they thought this was a challenge. I almost failed the test on purpose out of spite. The math portion consisted of problems I could have done in 6th grade and the writing prompt was so poor I almost couldn't answer it. I really hope that Texas changes this test and actually challenges it's students. With these as our standards it's no wonder we have on of the worst education systems in THE COUNTRY.

I took the TAAS test about four years ago and passed it. The TAAS test was a test we studied for in all my classes as a freshman in highschool. This was a really good experience for me because I passed the TAAS the first time I took it. I always hated doing practice exams in class but they helped me out alot. The writing was the easiest part of the test and I was well prepared for it. Overall the TAAS was a good educational experience for me because even though I passed the scores showed me what parts I mastered and I got to work on what ever I needed to.
